We are hiring Hawaii licensed therapists

Who we are/what we do:

‘Iao Mind & Body Health is kānaka (Native Hawaiian) cultivated and led. We focus on the holistic healing of trauma: mind, body, and spirit.  This practice incorporates evidence-based and evidence-informed therapies, as well as indigenous wisdom. We approach our work with cultural humility and are cognizant of systemic racism and bias that diverse cultures face in the medical systems of care. We strive to cultivate the felt sense of cultural safety for all whom we serve.

Our specialty is trauma healing, and we strongly believe that trauma can be healed, not just managed. We focus on applying theory and using interventions that target the reptilian and emotional brain (the limbic system).  These are referred to as bottom-up therapies and are often somatic and/or experiential. This includes EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Parts Work. The transformative neuroscience principle guiding our work is memory reconsolidation. If you are interested in learning these approaches, consider joining our team.

Why join our team?

  • If you want:
    • The flexibility of private practice, telehealth, and working from home
    • The experience of continued post-licensure, high-quality training and supervision
    • To be part of a team that embodies clinical excellence grounded in strong ethics, values, and indigenous wisdom.
    • THEN WE ARE FIT FOR YOU
  • High Compensation commensurate with experience. This is a 1099 contract position.
  • Create and have full control over your own schedule
  • Intuitive EMR with high-quality content. Get your notes done with clicks vs. typing
  • We will do all the billing, marketing, and credentialing. For example, we cover the monthly costs and help you create a Psychology Today profile.
  • Our practice offers post-licensure supervision and training to help early career psychologists and therapists further their competence and confidence, and to specialize in:
    • Highly sought-after therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i)
    • The neuroscience, education, and theory of the nervous system, survival, trauma, and trauma healing (e.g., memory consolidation)
    • Specific trauma-focused, experiential therapies and interventions that increase the consolidation and integration of trauma healing, such as Somatic Experiencing and Parts Work.

We are really looking for FIT. Who is a good fit?

  • Someone interested and passionate about learning new skills and tools
  • Someone curious and interested in personal and professional growth and development throughout the lifespan of their career
  • Someone who is self-reflexive and receptive to self-examination with feedback
